Find out what’s hot in home remodeling for 2019 and how your garden grows in our hot Summer sun.
One of the hottest remodeling trends for 2019 is creative and decorative storage. When it comes to storing your wine bottles, Nancy Higgins at Wine Cellar Specialists says, “Why not utilize the space under a staircase or an unused pantry to carve out a refrigerated wine room? We find that these bold, unexpected glass showcase cellars delight your guests and beautifully show off your wine collection. Combining glass walls with metal racking and LED lighting with clear, frosted or etched glass comes off as the height of sophistication.”
While you’re day dreaming about your home and garden, you can also do a little shopping and tasting at the yummy treats are or from one of the many food trucks onsite!

InTouch Credit Union’s 2018 Plano Balloon Festival runs from Friday, evening at 4:pm on September 21st through Sunday night, September 23rd at 7:pm and the event is packed full of exciting things for the entire family to enjoy
The festival kicks off with a concert on the KLUV Main Stage with a performance by Downtown Fever, then at 5:30pm the RE/MAX of Texas Parachute Team will amaze you with a jawdropping skydiving exhibition. Downtown Fever comes back on stage to perform at 7:pm before the first Balloon Glow of the festival at 8:pm!
Plano Balloon Festival executive director, Jo Via says of the Balloon Glow, “Balloons inflate and light themselves from within. The sight of hot air balloons lit up like giant light bulbs is breathtaking. Pilots will coordinate ‘all burns’ where they fire up their burners illuminating their balloons all at once and also perform ‘count downs’ which are very crowd participatory events. A Glow is a MUST SEE at our festival!”
Plano Festival Balloon Launch: More than 45 beautifully, colorful hot air balloons will launch Friday at 6:00 pm, Saturday at 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, and Sunday at 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Then at 8:am Saturday and Sunday mornings, another group of balloons launched from remote locations will fly over the festival grounds, aiming for a target on the launch field to see which balloon will win the Fly In Contest! And as if that wasn’t enough, there will be fireworks, food vendors, a Kids Fun Zone, and a half marathon, relay, 5K run/walk and 1-mile Fun Run.
If you’re looking up into the sky and wishing that you could float through the sky yourself, you are in luck! Rohr Balloons is providing the Tethered Balloon Rides for the Plano Balloon Festival again this year! Owner and balloon pilot himself, Brian Rohr reminds us of the Balloonist’s Prayer, “May the winds welcome you with softness. May the sun bless you with its warm hands. May you fly so high and so well that God joins you in laughter and sets you gently back into the loving arms of Mother Earth.”
